NHS Digital is planning to release National GP appointment volumes and availability data on Thurs 24 Nov 2022.
As yet GP practices are unaware of full details of the data extract.
Important Note:
There are likely to be data quality issues and some differences between local and national data.
For example it will not include local enhanced access patient appointments ie. extra early morning and evening appointments, 3 Valleys Health Primary Care Network improving access service at Elm Hayes, Paulton and Hope House, Radstock or the home visiting Paramedic service and therefore may show a poorer patient access view than reality.
We are expecting regional statements from Dr Michael Marsh, Regional Medical Director and Dr Kheelna Bavalia, South West Medical Director for Primary Care and Wessex Local Medical Committee. The GPC/BMA is also preparing a statement.
